No one likes to experience heartache and pain. We often think it’s not fair when troubles come our way and sometimes even say, “What did I do to deserve this?” But, do we ever ask that same question when things are going well? For example, what did I do to deserve such an amazing spouse […]
Read MoreGuest Blog, make or break, written by my oldest daughter, Karen. I am human and imperfect. I have down days. Self image issues at times. Feelings of inadequacy. I worry about parenthood. Am I good enough? Strong enough? Life is a juggling act. The responsibilities, endless. I fear that I may drop one ball or […]
Read MoreThough I am not a runner, I run everywhere. I’m not sure this qualifies me to write about running, but I do have distance runners in my family and have gone to races. I would like to share some of my observations about running and a drink. Let’s start with a marathon. There are those who […]
Read MoreThis is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. Arleen Jennings came to speak at our Ladies Tea in March. Many of the women present were in the midst of reading her book on creativity. We were all blessed by the words that she shared with us that night on how we were made to be creative and the need to practice our creativity. Several times throughout her talk I could feel that it wasn’t Arleen speaking but the Spirit of God through her. The message was exactly what we needed to hear and met us on a personal level right where we are at. Arleen would tell stories of her journey to creativity that were very touching and I appreciated the way she was willing to take the risk and reveal her heart to us. We all were ministered to that night.
